The first three hours of trhe run walk was slowish - might have been the sinisitus of the week before. Willie Engelbrecht was a very good pace maker and finished the leg to Worcester way ahead of me. After 30 km I asked him to go ahead and run his pace.
Well into the night I was supported by my son Johan and his friend Sid. They tried to revive my body, but after about 10 and a half hours, I called it a day. The body seemed to be unwilling to take the punch.
My two man support team did a great job on his shift. They took over from Michael who was on the first watch.
Thank you for your support and for everybody that did (or was willing to) support.
It was a big disappointment... but the fight for poverty eradication goes on!
